FMR Partner Kent Phillips
Phillips joined FMR in 2021. He has been involved with media, consumer behavior and political research for over 30 years. Phillips owns TCCP Radio consulting over 100 radio stations in the US and Canada, including some of the most dominant stations in North America. He also is Partner in Eastlan Ratings, the second largest media ratings/research company in the US and owns radio stations in Washington State and Montana.
Phillips was the Program Director and air/talent at KPLZ in Seattle for 35 years, the longest run of any air talent on a single station in that market’s history. He has been named one of the most influential Programmers in America multiple times by Radio Ink and is a multiple nominee and winner of Program Director of the Year. Phillips is a graduate of Whitman College and did Master’s work at Fuller Theological Seminary
FMR Partner and Founder Bruce Fohr
Bruce Fohr founded FMR Associates in 1981. Fohr’s media research career began while serving on the Business/Journalism faculty of Columbia College, Missouri.
In 1977, Fohr joined Frank N. Magid Associates, Marion, Iowa, as a Research Associate. Before leaving the firm in 1980, Fohr was director of the company’s Research Division, including newspaper, television, radio and non-media clients. In 1980, as part of Surrey Broadcasting in Tucson, Arizona, Fohr was a founding partner and president of Communications Research, Ltd. (later renamed Surrey Research).
Key Members of the FMR Project Team:
- Kelly Myers, Research Manager & Director of Digital Platforms – Joined FMR in 1994 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Arizona. Myers is the primary analyst involved in preparation of all research reports, including writing, editing, design and presentation of tabular/graphic displays. She also is responsible for all aspects of online/digital survey research and management, from custom programming to delivery of data.
- Mike Walter, Director of Operations – Responsible for all areas of project and system operations, including the internal network, off-site data collection (EARS® projects) and data processing. Walter is further responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of all reports and data generated. Walter joined FMR in 1996, after four years of supervising computer network staffs for a national database management firm. Walter has an undergraduate degree in American Studies from the University of Manchester (U.K.) and a Master of Arts in Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota.
- Andy Wellik, Director of Research – Responsible for all aspects of client services and deliverables, with 30 years of project management, research design, fielding and data analysis experience utilizing a wide range of methodologies. Works closely with project team to deliver on-time, objective and actionable research product. Wellik joined FMR in 1992, following four years as in the banking industry. Wellik has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Arizona, Tucson.
